Mamba & Mambacita
Mamba is a nickname famously associated with the late basketball legend Kobe Bryant. It served as his alter ego during the second half of his NBA career. Mambacita is a term derived from the original Black Mamba nickname which honors Gianna “Gigi” Bryant, Kobe’s daughter, who tragically lost her life alongside him in a helicopter crash in January 2020. Gianna was an aspiring basketball player, and her skills were reminiscent of her father’s. This painting honors Kobe’s legacy, and GiGi passion for the game.
